With the advent of group FaceTime, virtual group hangouts across the world saw a transformation. It was a little difficult to navigate the group FaceTime interface, which consisted of floating bubbles of varying sizes and no clear indication of who was speaking.

Because of the Grid View feature in FaceTime in iOS 15, we no longer have to deal with this little but irksome issue. When you use Grid View, your video chat participants are organized into tidy squares at the top of your screen, and a white outline appears around the box of whoever is speaking at that time whats the greatest part? Everything is accessible from inside the FaceTime interface itself, so you won't have to leave the conversation to fiddle about in your phone's settings.

Make sure you're in a group FaceTime session before you can enable Grid Mode.

Grid Mode is theoretically accessible for single FaceTime calls as well, although it doesn't seem to be much different in terms of appearance. Make sure you're in a FaceTime conversation with at least three other individuals in order to receive the full impact.

We're going to presume that everyone in this room understands how to create a FaceTime group. But, just in case you need a reminder, here's what you should know: If you want to video call everyone in a group chat, you may either open your favorite group chat and click the FaceTime button in the top right corner or go to your FaceTime app and select "New FaceTime" and enter the name of the person you want to contact.

As soon as you are connected to the call, touch on the screen to bring up the toolbar.

If you look up at the top of your screen, you'll find a list of the different options you may change, including mute, video on or off, and SharePlay. The name of the call (if it is made via a FaceTime connection) or the names of the individuals participating in the call should be shown above all of the other parameters. Following that, you should be presented with further call settings on a separate screen.

Tap on "Grid Layout," and you should see the button become bright white:

It is successful if the button becomes opaque and white after you have successfully switched on Grid View. Click "Done," and you'll be able to enjoy your properly arranged group FaceTime session.

Grid View will not automatically be on for all of your group calls, which may be a little inconvenient if you discover that you like this view much more. It is always possible to return to the call settings and switch the functionality back off if you like the chaotic bubbles for any reason.
